Conditions for Nomination
Nominees for the award must meet the following criteria:
- Are Arab nationals or of Arab decent.
- Have made valuable scientific and social contributions to science and society during at least the three years preceding the nomination, and to have done so in an Arab country.
- Age of the nominee should not exceed 45 years, thus nominees for 2009 awards should have been born in 1964 or beyond.
- To be nominated, in writing, by two professors in the university or institution for which a nominee works in an Arab country, provided that the nominating letters include a brief biography of the nominee and justification for the nomination along with a list of scientific publications of the nominee.
- Three CDs containing the nominee’s complete scientific works during the three preceding years (2007, 2008, 2009) to include: (studies, books, contributions to conferences, etc.) should be sent, and each CDs should contain also the documents and information required in the application. Paper forms are not preferred except for necessity.
- Winners of any of Abdul Hameed Shoman awards may not be nominated a second time for an award in the same category or specialty or any other category. However, those who were unsuccessful in winning an award may reenter the competition for nomination provided they submit new scientific research(es), in addition to satisfying other conditions for the award.
- No nominations or additions will be accepted beyond the deadline , or don't adhere by the terms of nomination.
