The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation has decide to extend the period for nomination for the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation Children's Award until 30/4/2012 instead of 31/1/2012 in order to provide the opportunity for those wishing to participate in this competition.

The Award comprises of the following:

1-      A certificate in the name of the winner and the subject in which he/she won.

2-      A medal bearing the name of the award and the logo of Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation.

3-      The sum of (10000) Ten Thousand Dollars.

4-      In case the award is merited by two winners or more, then each one of them will be given a certificate and a medal, in addition to the financial reward which will be equally shared by the winners.

Conditions of the Award:

1-      The nominee must be an Arab national or of Arab origin, whose work is connected to literature that is directed to children who are less than sixteen years of age.

2-      The work presented should be in literary Arabic.

3-      The work is to be submitted in a (DVD, CD) of technical quality. In case this is imposable then it may be submitted as a hardcopy.

4-      Only one work shall be accepted.

5-      Nomination for the award may be made by the nominees themselves or through the concerned media, cultural and educational institutions.

6-      Six (6) copies of the work nominated for the Award should be submitted along with the C.V. of the nominee, provided that a form for applying for the Award is filled out (which may be obtained from the Foundation or downloaded from the Foundation's Website) and sent to the address of the Award's Secretariat.
