On Tuesday 14.10.2008 a protocol of cooperation was signed between Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation and Bibliotheca Alexandrina aiming at enhancing bilateral friendship ,developing scientific & cultural cooperation ,and publishing scientific items as well as joint interests of both Foundations and their objectives.

The protocol was signed by the General Manager of Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation and Mr. Thabet Al-Taher and Dr. Ismael Siraj Al-Deen the General Manager of Bibliotheca Alexandrina with the attendance of many scholars & intellectuals following a lecture for Dr. Siraj Al-Deen addressing the scientific research at Shoman Cultural forum.

Articles of the protocol imply the cooperation of the two parties in scientific & cultural prospects to include :training ,indexing ,automation , digitization ,libraries mutual communication ,supporting various scientific and human projects of scientific research ,as well as book exchange to enrich libraries of the two parties ,and organizing conferences and symposiums.

The two parties agreed to set a joint committee to prepare the programs that are scheduled to be carried out jointly.
