Introduction

Monthly acquisition list includes all bibliographic data for library materials including books, pamphlets and audiovisual materials, such as, cassettes, video cassettes and CD-ROM, in addition to other kinds of information sources, which were added to the collection of Abdul Hameed Shoman Public Library through the indicated month. These items has been processed using the following tools :

• Cataloguing : Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2).
• Classification : Dewey Decimal Classification System (DDC 22).
• Subject analysis : Expanded Thesaurus.

The acquisition list is divided into four main parts : The first section includes documents in Arabic language, the second part includes documents in foreign languages, most of them are in English language, and the third part includes publications of International Monetary Fund (IMF). These IMF publications arrive to the library, for it is considered as a depositary library for the IMF publications. The fourth part includes all the articles of periodicals that have been indexed through the month. Within each section all documents' data in this list were arranged alphabetically by subject, then by title within the same subject. Each entry contains the following bibliographic information if applicable :

Title / statement of responsibility, place of publication : publisher, publication year - call number.

The bibliographic data of the library materials in an interested subject could be accessed by clicking on the acquired subject in table of context.
