Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers was launched by Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in 1982, and is awarded as an appreciation for distinguished scientific works, which dissemination and publication will lead to promoting applied and scientific knowledge, increasing awareness on the culture of scientific research, and will contribute to solving problems of priority at the local, regional and international levels.
Since The Award was launched in 1982 until the end of 2013, three hundred seventy professors and researchers have been granted this Award, who represent Arab Universities and Scientific Institutes in various Arab Countries.
 
Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Rsearchers Objectives
·         To contribute to promoting, supporting and enforcing Arab Scientific Research.
·         To raise a generation of Arab researchers, experts and specialists in various scientific fields.
 
The Award Timeline
1982 :  The Launch of Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab    Researchers,  4 Awards, The value of each Award is 3000 JD 
1983 :  5 Awards
1984 7  Awards
1993 10 Awards,The value of each Award is 5000 JD
199512 Awards
2002 : The value of each Award is 10000 USD,Increasing the Maximum age of Applicants to become 45 years instead of 40 years
2011 : The value of each Award is 15000 USD
2013 :  New Award Criteria were introduced:
- Making it possible for all scientific researchers to apply for the Award regardless of age.

- Award Name changed to become Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers.

- The Award categorized all scientific specializations in six main fields instead of twelve. The Award is granted annually, on one or more specializations  in each field.


 

 

Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers New Criteria


 

 - Nomination is open for all researchers, regardless of age.

- Award name changed to become; Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers. 

- The Award categorized all scientific specializations in six main fields instead of twelve. The Award is granted annually, on one or more specializations  in each field.

 

The Award is granted annually in six scientific fields as specified by the Award Scientific Committee, in addition to specifying competition topics in each field.
