Juma Al-Majid Cultural and Heritage Center

Established in 1991 , this is a non – profit charitable foundation with the following gallant objectives to achieve :
1- Outspreading Culture for all.
2- Serving researchers and encouraging them to Search.
3- Safeguarding and preservation of Islamic and Arabic heritage as well as publishing it .
In order to make these objectives a realty , the Center adopted the means that could make that possible to include :
a- The possession of various human thought vessels , processing, organizing , preserving , and making them accessible for researchers .
b- Holding symposiums , lectures , conferences , and training courses.
c- Working hard to create Cultural Cooperation relations and enhancing them with local , regional, and Arab Cultural Scientific Foundations .
The Center's Library collection includes more than 500000 Volumes in addition to more than fifty thousands manuscript of which 8000 are factual and original and more than 200000 manuscript either photocopied or microfilmed .
Noteworthy , Sheikh Juma Al-Majid the Founder and Chairman of the Center is one of the most successful businessmen in Dubai as well as being a man of culture , thought ,and charities in UAE and the Arabian Gulf .
He founded Al- Ahliya Charity Schools, College of Arabic and Islamic Studies that grants a free of charge BA. in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies for needy Students of the Gulf States and other poor countries , in addition to a monthly allowance for each student. The Sheikh is one of the founders of " Beit Al-Kheir" Society that cares for poor and needy families .
For his remarkable effects in serving Islam and Culture , the Sheik was awarded several awards to include " King Feisul International Award for Serving Islam " In 1998 ; Man of the year : Cultural Award" of UAE in 1992 ; " Award of participants for Eradicating Illiteracy- Ministry of Education - UAE" in 1995; “Al-Qureen Award for Cultural Personalities” – Kuwait 2004 ; " Jerusalem's Medal " from Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbass in 2005 , and " Tareem Imran Award for Pioneering Cultural Institutes " Sharjah – 2007 .
