Literary Creativity Field Conditions

 

Essay:

  1. Target age groups: (12-15), (16-18);
  2. The essay shall include the following components: title; introduction; and body of the essay, including the construction of the logical argument, escalation, advocacy, and conclusion;
  3. The essay shall be in Standard Arabic;
  4. The essay shall be authentic. The contestants shall participate in a workshop to demonstrate their artistic ability;
  5. The number of words shall not be less than 250 words and not more than 400 words;
  6. The applicant shall submit his / her article in a 14-pt font in three copies, which qualifies him/her to enter the first stage of the competition only. The participating texts shall be discussed in the workshop;
  7. Final arbitration shall be carried out according to the outcome of the workshop;
  8. The Committee may delete or exclude any participation copied, transmitted, translated, or not complying with the terms and conditions;
  9. All entries shall be sent starting from 16 September to 30 November via e-mail.
  10. The decisions of the arbitration committees shall be final and shall not be subject to appeal;

Poetry:

  1. Target age groups: (12-15), (16-18);
  2. The submitted poem shall be in Standard Arabic;
  3. Traditional poetry, free verse, and prose poems shall be accepted;
  4. The poem shall be characterized with seriousness and shall establish innovative imagery and reflect the ideas of the applicant;
  5. The number of verses in the traditional (vertical) poem shall not be less than 10 verses and not more than 20 verses;
  6. The number of lines in the free verse or prose poem shall not be less than 15 lines;
  7. The applicant shall submit a poem printed in a 14-pt font in three copies, which shall qualify him / her to enter the first stage of the competition only;
  8. The applicant shall participate in a workshop supervised by experts, which will include writing one or more poems;
  9. Final arbitration shall be carried out in accordance with the outcomes of the workshop;
  10. All entries shall be sent starting from 16 September to 30 November via e-mail.
  11. Decisions of the arbitration committees shall be final and shall not subject to appeal.
