  • The Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Children's Literature Fields:

Story

The story constitutes one of the most influential arts on children, especially during the formation of their consciousness. It plays an important role in building a strong and lasting relationship between children and books, and stimulates creative imagination and creativity among them.

Poetry

Given the importance of building a strong linguistic base, linking the minds of children with their spirits and expressing their emotions, poetry comes as a motivational element, full of ideas and imagination, in charge of helping introduce children to the beauty of language, as well as its breadth and music.

Novel

The novel comes as an advanced step for young children, where its author respects children's minds and abilities, moving them to more amplified and colorful worlds than a story would. The novel’s importance comes from its ability to build a parallel world for adolescents, that would help them understand life in fine details through narration, character building, and events evolution. Furthermore, the novel stimulates the ability to analyze, reformulate, and adapt the story to promote and start using the Arabic language.

Theatrical Script

The theatrical script derives its importance from its ability to join forces between dialogue and motion. The writing process of theatrical text includes imagining live characters interacting with children. The theatrical script also uses language, sound and body to take the children to another world, that would tackle their imagination and mix entertainment with a purposeful message.
